COMPLETED MISSIONS
ORBITAL FLY
OCTOBER 2025
DETAILS
IIAS-02 Parabolic flight (OCT 2025)
On the IIAS-02 international mission, in collaboration with the National Research Council Canada (NRC), REA Space conducted a parabolic-flight campaign to exercise the EMSi (MK.02) biosuit and initiate preliminary tests of its adaptive electrostimulation module. The suit—featuring an exterior design by Drudi Performance — was worn by research astronauts Shawna Pandya and Norah Patten. The effort falls under the ASI–REA contract and targets mitigation of microgravity-induced physiological effects while validating operations and hardware for the next development steps
BED REST
AUG 2025- SEPT 2025
DETAILS
Bed rest campaign (AUG-SEP 2025)
REA Space strengthened its collaboration with ASI through a new contract within the “Science for Bed-Rest” program — an international study conducted at the General Hospital of Isola and coordinated by the Scientific Research Centre of Koper (Slovenia).
Within this framework, our adaptive muscle electrostimulation device is being tested on volunteers during a 21-day simulated microgravity campaign.
The experiment aims to validate our technology as an effective countermeasure against muscle atrophy and bone loss, bridging the gap between space research and terrestrial healthcare applications.
AX-3 MISSION
JAN 2024- FEB 2024
DETAILS
Ax-3 mission (JAN-FEB 2024)
The EMSi IVA suit — developed in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the support of Italian Air Force (ITAF) — flew as one of the scientific payloads of the Axiom-3 mission.
Among the experiments, EMSi was the only one to be physically tested on board the SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, becoming the first wearable experiment in history to be operated inside the spacecraft.
During the mission, the suit collected in-orbit bio-physiological data in its muscle-monitoring configuration, marking a pivotal milestone in REA Space’s contribution to human spaceflight research.
