WHY REA SPACE?
Our name is rooted in Greek mythology. Rhea, daughter of Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (Sky), is the mother of the Olympian gods: a figure who embodies the balance between opposites — the earthly and the celestial, stability and change, protection and the drive toward the new.
We chose this name because it reflects our mission: to create a bridge between Earth and Space, taking human ingenuity beyond known boundaries while staying firmly connected to our origins.
Like the goddess Rhea, we aim to protect and support those facing challenges in extreme environments — from astronauts in orbit to those working under demanding conditions on Earth — by offering solutions that combine strength, innovation, and long-term vision.

MILESTONES
2022 –
Foundation and First Steps

REA Space is officially founded in Turin. In the same year, we join the TakeOff Accelerator program, laying the groundwork for our first headquarters, expanding our network, and establishing strategic partnerships and initial technology development lines.
2023 –
Collaboration with ASI

We started working with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) on the development of the EMSi intravehicular suit within the human spaceflight domain: a decisive step to accelerate the project and prepare for our first mission in orbit.
2024/01 –
Ax-3 Mission

The EMSi suit, in its muscle monitoring configuration, flies aboard the Ax-3 mission on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon. This marks the first in-orbit test of our technology, paving the way for longer and more complex missions.
2024/06 –
Compasso d’Oro ADI

REA Space receives the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI, the world’s most authoritative design award. A recognition that celebrates not only our technological innovation but also our ability to merge functionality and aesthetics in the aerospace sector.
2025 –
EXPO Osaka 2025

During EXPO 2025 in Osaka, REA Space unveils Futura, the concept prototype of its first EVA space suit, presented during the Tech Talk “The Future of Space Tech”. More than a technological concept, Futura embodies our vision for the future of human spacewear: modular, human-centered, and built through collaboration across design, engineering, and research
2025/09 –
Science for Bed-Rest

REA Space strengthens its collaboration with ASI through a new contract within the “Science for Bed-Rest” campaign. Our adaptive muscle electrostimulation device is tested during a 21-day bed rest study, advancing validation against muscle atrophy and bone loss in simulated microgravity.
2025/10 –
Commercial Analog Astronaut Mission (CAAM)

REA Space takes part in the Commercial Analog Astronaut Mission (CAAM) in the Grotte di Castellana, one of Italy’s most advanced lunar simulation environments. The mission is promoted by Space Pioneers with the Politecnico di Bari and under the patronage of the Italian Space Agency (ASI).
2025/11 –
Suborbital Flight & International Outreach

Our technology is tested during a suborbital flight with the contribution of Norah Patten and Shawna Pandya. In the same period, we share REA Space’s journey at Italian Space Day in Washington, hosted at the Italian Embassy in the United States.
2025/12 –
Italian Space Day, Washington D.C.

REA Space is selected to take part in Italian Space Day 2025 in Washington, D.C., one of the most prestigious international events dedicated to the future of space exploration. Invited to the Afternoon Pitch Parade, we present our vision and technologies for advancing astronaut health and performance in orbit.
2026/01 –
CES 2026, Las Vegas

REA Space took part in CES 2026, the world’s leading technology event, exhibiting at Eureka Park in Las Vegas. During the show, we unveiled MUVIT, a new sensor-based wearable system developed to transfer space-derived research into elite sports applications, supporting advanced performance monitoring and injury prevention.
GET INTO OUR HEADQUARTER
Nestled in the heart of Fasano, REA Space’s headquarters offer a unique blend of tradition and innovation. More than just the hub of our operations, the site hosts advanced production laboratories where much of our technology is designed and manufactured in-house, ensuring full control over quality and innovation. The facility also includes a clean room and specialized equipment built to meet aerospace-grade standards, enabling the development and validation of cutting-edge solutions with precision and reliability.
